Punjab Paper Leak Row: BJP Protests Against AAP, Seeks Minister Bains' Resignation

A large number of police personnel were deployed outside the AAP office in Delhi as the BJP protest began. The BJP has alleged that several recruitment examinations and papers have been leaked in Punjab in recent times, putting the future of lakhs of students at risk.

The party has demanded that Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains should immediately resign, taking moral responsibility for the issue. The BJP has been continuously targeting the AAP government over the matter and has intensified its attack on the state administration.

Earlier, on July 28, BJP MPs had also staged a protest inside the Parliament complex. The demonstration was led by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. During the protest, MPs raised slogans of “Punjab paper leak par jawab do” and demanded the resignation of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.

Meanwhile, the Shiromani Akali Dal has also attacked the Aam Aadmi Party government over the issue. Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has demanded a CBI investigation into 11 alleged examination scams that took place during the AAP government’s tenure in Punjab from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal wrote on X that she had demanded a CBI probe into all 11 examination scams during the AAP government on behalf of the entire Punjab. She said Punjab wants accountability and nothing less than that will be accepted.

Along with Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Congress has also intensified its attack on the Punjab government. On Monday, Congress MPs staged a protest outside Parliament and demanded the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

The Congress alleged that incidents of alleged paper leaks had taken place in the state and also raised concerns over police action against sanitation workers protesting in Barnala. The protest was held against both issues.

With the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal, and Congress raising allegations against the AAP government, the controversy over the alleged Punjab paper leak cases has become a major political issue, with demands for accountability and investigation continuing to grow.
